OPeNDAP Servers

Once your OPeNDAP server type has been selected, there are three basic steps which must be followed to setup your server:

  • Download the software.

    • Binary versions of the OPeNDAP servers are available for the following computer platforms:

      • Sun Solaris
      • SGI Irix
      • Linux
      • Compaq/Digital Unix
      • Hewlett-Packard HPUX

    • Go to our Software Download page and download the appropriate server binaries for the current version.

    • If your platform isn't listed above, you will have to build the software for your machine. Please go to the Software Download page and download the appropriate software from the current version

  • Test your installation.

    • After the server binaries are installed at your site:

      • The tarfile containing the server binaries will also contain a number of test datafiles for the server types you've downloaded.

      • Move or copy the files now in to OPeNDAP/test to the DocumentRoot location for your Web server.

      • The server-specific INSTALL document will provide examples to illustrate how to access the these test files using your OPeNDAP server.
