Transfer of Scientific Data

Data must be coupled with structural information:

• Type information (Matrix, vector function, ...)
• Logical organization (Set, relation, ...)
• Ancillary information (Units, history, ...)

Several data storage & access APIs permit storage of this information for local data, but not remote data.
