This is the process of reading the data into one's analysis package. It involves:
- Determining the format of the data.
- Often, writing (or acquiring) a program to read
that format.
- Reading the data into the package.
In the example I found that the data were stored in GRIB.
I acquired a program via the Net to read GRIB, modified it for my machine and read the data.
